Kitchen Aide / Prep Summary: Goodrich Area Schools is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Aide/Prep Cook to support our kitchen team. This role is essential in ensuring food preparation runs smoothly by assisting with basic cooking tasks, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and following food safety guidelines. Ideal candidates are team players with a strong work ethic and a passion for maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and requirements
- Wear uniform while on duty.
- Able to follow sanitary guidelines.
- Able to operate POS (with training).
- Dependable, friendly, and courteous.
- Able to work fast.
- Help wherever there is a need when not busy. Be a team player.
- Have a good rapport with staff and children.
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
Essential Functions and Representative Duties- Willing to take continuing education classes.
- Work daily in assigned school and position as assigned by FSD.
- Prepares dish machine/sinks daily.
- Properly clean and sanitize all soiled dishes.
- Returns clean items to appropriate areas.
- Cleans and sanitize dishwashing area on daily basis.
- Prepare food as assigned.
- Serve lunches and / or fill food during lunch periods.
- Identify reimbursable breakfast and lunch.
- Always serve customers in a friendly and timely manner.
- Be able to make change quickly and accurately.
- Be able to run the POS system with proper training.
- Be able to rotate jobs within kitchen as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed at Oaktree Elementary and may include other facilities of the district. The hours for this position are 10:00 am – 2:25 pm on student days. There is limited exposure to physical risk.
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is hired through GECS.
START DATE: August 18 th , 2025 for the 2025-26 school year
COMPENSATION: According to scale
