Job description

As the O&M Technician, you will perform maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties:

  1. Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors;
  2. Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings;
  3. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets;
  4. Painting structures and equipment;
  5. Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks;
  6. Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles;
  7. Hanging doors and installing door locks;
  8. Replacing broken window panes;
  9. Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. General maintenance includes preventive maintenance work not requiring extensive craft training, minor electrical repairs, simple troubleshooting, and replacement of parts.

Position will exercise proficient communication skills coupled with a positive and customer-oriented attitude, demonstrating a continual focus on customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent;
  2. 5 to 7 years of related experience;
  3. Consideration will be given to relevant professional experience commensurate with assignment;
  4. Professional certification in one or more trades, preferably plumbing or HVAC desired;
  5. Forklift Certification.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Considerable knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
