Job summary

Knobelsdorff provides turnkey automation, electrical, energy, and power services. The O&M Technician will support the Power Services division by performing corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning across multiple solar plants.

You will maintain electrical, mechanical, and communication systems to ensure safety, reliability, and performance. The role emphasizes field work, independent operation, and commitment to KE’s values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical industry.
  • Minnesota Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master required).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical hazards and LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with fiber optics, networking, and communication systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with DAS, SCADA, thermal imaging, solar commissioning, IV curve tracing, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history and ability to travel locally, regionally, and overnight as needed.

  • Maintain and service electrical, mechanical, and communication systems that impact plant performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Ensure solar facilities operate efficiently, safely, with minimal downtime, upholding KE’s Safety, People, Passion, and Performance.
  • Work independently in the field and demonstrate technical excellence.

Job Description

The O&M Technician supports the Power Servicesdivision by performing corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities across multiple solar plants. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing electrical, mechanical, and communication systems that directly impact plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Success in this role means ensuring solar facilities operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime, all while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. Qualifications

What You Bring

You’re someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical industry
  • Minnesota Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of electrical hazards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with fiber optics, networking, and communication systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred experience with DAS, SCADA, thermal imaging, solar commissioning, IV curve tracing, and heavy equipment operation

Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in.

Pay Range: $40-$65/hr plus per diem and incentive opportunities.
