Invenergy is seeking an O&M Technician to operate and maintain the Lackawanna Energy Center in Jessup, PA. The role involves working diverse shifts and extensive training in operations.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems, perform housekeeping, and work as part of a self-directed team to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

About the Site

Lackawanna Energy Center is a nominal 1500 MW combined cycle power generation facility using GE’s 7HA gas turbine platform. The facility is located in the borough of Jessup, Pennsylvania (near Scranton, PA).

Position Summary

The O&M Technician provides the organization with a knowledgeable, multi-skilled, troubleshooting expert who operates and maintains a combined cycle power station. This position requires highly flexible individuals that work various shift schedules in a team environment. Invenergy will train extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills.

Reporting

This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• The O&M Technician will be a team player performing operations, maintenance and technical support to achieve safe, cost effective operation and maintenance of the Lackawanna Energy Center.
• Operate the facility during start-up, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
• Maintain and trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical and or control systems in a power generation facility.
• Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
• Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
• The O&M Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and must be able to work holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in power plant operations, mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or instrument and controls.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• Candidates must be willing and capable of becoming multi-skilled and be part of a self-directed work team in a team environment.
• Each employee will perform both operations and maintenance.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Requirements

• GE Frame 7FA or 7HA experience desired but not required.

Base Pay

$38.86 - $62.76 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education and skills.
