Job summary

Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an O&M Site Lead Technician to manage all field activities for operating and maintaining a solar site. You will schedule, repair, service, and report on-site activities, lead other technicians, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Candidates should have 3+ years of solar experience, strong electronics knowledge, and proficiency with CMMS/SCADA. The role requires on-site work in a solar environment with potential lifting and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook/Excel) for reporting and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of electronic principles and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment and measurement tools.
  • Experience repairing tracker systems, inverters, transformers.
  • Capable of substation and recloser switching.
  • At least 3+ years solar experience with CMMS and SCADA familiarity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair inverters, trackers, and site systems.
  • Coordinate warranties and repairs with manufacturers.
  • Schedule site personnel, PMs, and repairs.
  • Manage on-site inventory, tools, and materials.
  • Ensure site safety and compliance with PPE/LOTO.
  • Log maintenance activities using HEIS or CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot equipment with manufacturer support and manuals.

Position Summary:

The O&M Site Lead Technician manages all field level activities required to operate and maintain a solar site. This will include scheduling, repairing, servicing, maintaining, reporting, communicating activities and events needed on site. Site lead technicians should be very familiar with the solar industry and able to effectively run a site with minimal support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair inverters, trackers, and other systems on site.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers for warranties and repairs.
  • Schedule site personnel work schedule, PMs, and repairs.
  • Manage and maintain on-site inventory and assets including tools and hardware.
  • Ensure site safety and security. Report any infractions to leadership and safety.
  • Order parts and materials needed for site operation and personnel.
  • Log and record all maintenance activities performed using HEIS.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment utilizing manufacturer’s support, manuals, and equipment specific training.
  • Accurately report and relay information to supervision and site owner representatives.
  • Adhere to all site safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.
  • Perform site security and visual inspections of vegetation, facilities, and roadways.
  • Coordinate with contractors and ensure they are adhering to good safety practices.
  • Lead other technicians to accomplish specific tasks or activities.

Perform all solar site activities not listed above to include meeting NERC and ERCOT requirements.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Required:
  • o Proficient in Microsoft Office software experience (ie Outlook, Excel)
  • o High level of electronic principles knowledge to perform advanced troubleshooting.
  • o Electrical testing equipment knowledge (multimeter, IV Curve Tracer, TTR, insulation resistance etc.)
  • o Proficient in repairing and maintaining tracker systems, inverters, transformers,
  • o Capable of performing substation and recloser switching.
  • o 3+ years solar experience
  • o Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs
  • o Ability to navigate SCADA system monitoring and applications
  • o Medium and High Electrical Voltage testing and safety experience
  • o Leadership and mentorship experience
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Ability to mostly work in an outside environment
  • Lifting items greater than 35 pounds
  • Walking on uneven ground and navigating rough terrain.
  • Ability to handle temperature extremes.
  • Able to wear and safely utilize all PPE required to perform tasks.

COMPENSATION: $35.00 - $40.00 / hr
