Job summary

QE Solar is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead field technicians and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across our distributed generation portfolio. You will drive operational excellence, safety, and quality, while partnering with customers to deliver reliable solar and BESS service.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in renewable operations, 3+ years in people leadership, and strong knowledge of electrical systems, NFPA 70E, and CMMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in renewable energy operations.
• 5+ years in renewable operations with field leadership.
• 3+ years leading field personnel.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, inverters, MV equipment, DAS, and O&M.
• OSHA and NFPA 70E knowledge.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and CMMS experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Solar Field Technicians across multiple states.
• Oversee daily field operations including maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning support, and emergency response.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA NFPA 70E, and customer requirements.
• Conduct field visits to coach technicians and uphold quality.
• Monitor KPIs such as uptime, response times, work orders, labor, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop staffing plans and resource allocation.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train employees.
• Conduct performance reviews and employee development.
• Manage labor, travel, fleet, and budgets.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Asset Management, Vegetation Management, and other departments.
• Conduct customer meetings and site visits.
• Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain CMMS documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

QE Solar is seeking a results-driven Field Operations Manager to lead and support field operations across our distributed generation (DG) solar portfolio. This individual will oversee field technicians, ensure operational excellence, drive safety and quality initiatives, and partner with customers to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in renewable energy operations, team development, and customer relationship management.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems, inverters, MV equipment, DAS, and O&M.
• OSHA and NFPA 70E knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and CMMS experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Battery Energy Storage (BESS) experience
• Multistate leadership experience

• Ability to work in confined spaces and near energized equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols
• Visual acuity to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents, and to identify potential hazards
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, arc-flash protection, and other job-specific gear
• Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other trades in active work environments

The pay range for this role is:

105,000 - 120,000 USD per year (New York, NY)
