Job summary

QE Solar is seeking a results-driven Field Operations Manager to lead field operations for our distributed generation solar portfolio across multiple states. You will manage field technicians, drive safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while partnering with customers to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in renewable energy operations.
• 3+ years leading field personnel.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, inverters, MV equipment, DAS, and O&M.
• OSHA and NFPA 70E knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and CMMS experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Solar Field Technicians across multiple states.
• Manage daily field operations for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning support, and emergency response.
• Ensure compliance with QE Solar safety policies, OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and customer safety requirements.
• Conduct field visits to coach technicians and maintain quality standards.
• Monitor KPIs including uptime, response times, work order completion, labor utilization, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop staffing plans and resource allocation.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train employees.
• Conduct performance reviews and employee development.
• Manage labor, travel, fleet, and operational budgets.
• Partner with Engineering, Asset Management, Vegetation Management, and other departments.
• Conduct customer meetings and site visits.
• Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain CMMS documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This individual will oversee field technicians, ensure operational excellence, drive safety and quality initiatives, and partner with customers to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in renewable energy operations, team development, and customer relationship management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in renewable operations.
• 3+ years leading field personnel.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, inverters, MV equipment, DAS, and O&M.
• OSHA and NFPA 70E knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and CMMS experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• NABCEP Certification
• OSHA 30 Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Battery Energy Storage (BESS) experience
• Multistate leadership experience

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, arc-flash protection, and other job-specific gear
• Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other trades in active work environments
