About The Role

This role oversees operational accounting functions for oil and gas clients. It is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with deep hands‑on knowledge across the full accounting workstream who is ready to lead a team, even without formal Controller title experience. You will serve as a key point of contact for operational accounting matters, both internally and with clients.

What You Will Do

• Oversee and manage operational accounting processes, including revenue accounting, joint interest billing (JIB), accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering growth and accountability within the team
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, working independently with minimal oversight
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting workstreams
• Serve as a key point of contact for operational accounting matters, both internally and with clients

Candidate Requirements

• Comprehensive operational accounting experience in oil and gas, spanning revenue, JIB, AP, AR, and general accounting functions
• Proven ability to lead and mentor accounting staff
• Strong independent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple client engagements at once
• Systems‑savvy and able to quickly learn new software with limited training
