Job summary

O’Brien Auto Team is hiring an entry-level Automotive Technician Assistant to join the Service Department. This role offers hands-on learning with experienced technicians and a Monday–Friday schedule with no Saturdays, providing a pathway to build automotive skills in a busy dealership environment.

Successful candidates will have basic mechanical interest, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn; no prior dealership experience is required as training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Interest in automotive skills and willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist automotive technicians with daily service department tasks.
• Clean and prepare customer vehicles, inside and out.
• Check and top off fluids, check tire pressure, refuel vehicles, and charge batteries.
• Move vehicles safely throughout the dealership.
• Keep track of vehicle locations and status.
• Maintain clean, organized service bays, drive lanes, and parking areas.
• Restock supplies and help keep the shop running smoothly.
• Learn basic automotive service procedures, shop safety, and dealership operations.

Looking for a hands‑on job where you can learn new skills and build a future in the automotive industry? O’Brien Auto Team is looking for a dependable, motivated Automotive Technician Assistant to join our Service Department!

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, likes to stay busy, and wants to learn from experienced automotive technicians. No previous dealership experience is required — we’re willing to train the right person!

Even better? This is a Monday–Friday position with NO Saturday work!

What You’ll Do

• Assist automotive technicians with daily service department tasks.
• Clean and prepare customer vehicles, inside and out.
• Check and top off fluids, check tire pressure, refuel vehicles, and charge batteries.
• Move vehicles safely throughout the dealership.
• Keep track of vehicle locations and status.
• Maintain clean, organized service bays, drive lanes, and parking areas.
• Restock supplies and help keep the shop running smoothly.
• Work with technicians, service advisors, and other team members to support daily operations.
• Learn basic automotive service procedures, shop safety, and dealership operations.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or an interest in learning automotive skills.
• A dependable, hardworking attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
