Job summary

Curbed, the real estate, architecture, design, and urbanism site from New York Magazine, seeks a temporary Real Estate Editor for a two-month contract. You will edit NYC real estate stories, generate assignments, and work with freelancers to expand coverage.

This in-office role (Tue–Thu) allows remote flexibility on other days and offers a compensation range highlighted by Vox Media’s pay transparency. You’ll report to the Editorial Team and lead a small staff.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of New York City real estate, neighborhoods, and development.
• 3–5 years of experience as an editor focused on NYC real estate.
• Track record publishing smart, ambitious stories.

Responsibilities

• Edit news stories and features about NYC real estate and development.
• Generate assignments for staff and freelancers based on news and tips.
• Oversee two staff writers and one weekly permalancer.
• Help execute special packages and projects.
• Coordinate with other editors at Curbed and across New York Magazine on visuals and social promotion for stories.
