Job summary

Greystone, a leading national commercial real estate lender, is seeking an Accounting Intern in its New York City office to gain exposure to all facets of the Accounting department.

You will assist with monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and data compilation in Excel, while supporting Treasury and Accounts Payable. This hands-on internship emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and clear written communication, with mentorship and potential for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including maintaining support schedules and assisting with account-level review.
• Support the accounting team with account reconciliations, roll-forwards, journal entry preparation and support, and investigation of reconciling items.
• Compile financial and operational data using Excel and other financial reporting systems and assist with developing schedules used by the team and management.
• Work with other areas of the department, including Treasury and Accounts Payable, and support payment processing as needed.
• Assist with maintaining accounting documentation, procedures, and support for the Company's internal control environment.
• Participate in ad hoc accounting and analyses based on departmental needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve or automate recurring accounting processes, reports, and reconciliations as appropriate
