Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a WC Loss Time Claims Adjuster to join our growing team in the United States. The role manages Workers' Compensation claims within NYS guidelines and authority, handling investigations, reserves, settlements, and communications with claimants, attorneys, and providers.

Ideal candidates hold a NYS license (or commit to obtaining within 6 months), have experience adjusting NYS workers' compensation claims, and demonstrate strong confidentiality and telephone skills.

Qualifications

• New York State License required or obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Experience adjusting New York State workers' compensation claims.
• Excellent confidentiality and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and gather information to determine compensability via interviews.
• Secure and file FROI & SROI forms with NYS WC Board and parties.
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within guidelines.
• Examine and authorize medical bill payments and vendor invoices.
• Refer cases for IMEs when indicated and prepare counsel for hearings.
• Respond to inquiries from claimants, clients, attorneys, and providers.
• Apply cost containment techniques and manage recoveries.
• Identify cases for reporting to the Excess Carrier.
• Negotiate settlements and control disposition from investigation to settlement.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure timely claims closure.
