Job summary

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP seeks an associate attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to support the firm’s New York defense practice. The role offers an opportunity for a litigator to take on significant matters in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong legal writing, research and analytical skills and meaningful courtroom experience, with background in insurance defense or related areas preferred. NY Labor Law experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• 1+ years of New York Labor Law experience preferred.
• Strong legal writing, research and analytical skills.
• Admission to practice in New York; NJ/CT/PA a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handling all phases of New York defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conducting legal research and preparing comprehensive reports and analyses.
• Participating in and leading court conferences, depositions, hearings and trial proceedings as appropriate.
• Managing case strategy and deadlines in line with client and carrier guidelines.
