Position: Curriculum Implementation Support Advisor

Location: Flexible (100% remote)

Type: Short-Term Consultant (8-10 month position with potential for permanent hire)

Overview of nXu

nXu (short for nexus) is a non-profit initiative that provides research-based, transformative, purpose-driven learning experiences for youth and adults through a school-based curriculum, educator training and development, and direct student programming. We cultivate spaces to elevate joy and center our collective stories, exploring the unique joys, strengths, and values that drive each individual in meaningful directions. Our approach emphasizes recognizing identities as powerful and essential for fulfilling future pathways.

Overview of Role

nXu offers a purpose, durable skills, and wellbeing solution through six offerings, which can be selected individually or as a package: (1) program review; (2) experiential programming for students and educators & AI career exploration tools; (3) student wellbeing screener; (4) CASEL-approved, NACE-aligned K-12 curriculum with tailored implementation support; (5) professional development offerings; and (6) an assessment system to measure growth in durable skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Our team provides support and guidance to ensure effective implementation of the Nexus curriculum by our school and organizational partners. We seek a highly motivated and skilled Curriculum Implementation Support Advisor to:

  1. Educator Coaching:
    • Support educators and their schools/organizations via virtual check-ins to integrate nXu's content based on specific use cases;
    • Provide ongoing, tailored strategic guidance on curricular selection;
    • Ensure high-quality implementation and delivery of the curriculum for students and educators.
  2. Professional Culture Development: Foster a supportive and intellectually curious professional environment where educators feel supported in delivering nXu's curriculum.
  3. Internal Partnership Management: Collaborate with team members to codify partner support systems, participate in internal discussions to optimize support models.
  4. Program Representation: Represent nXu positively with partner schools and the broader educational community, with potential for modest travel.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least five years of instructional and curriculum development experience at middle or high school levels;
  • At least two years of coaching or managing teachers;
  • Experience teaching social-emotional learning, identity development, or related whole-child topics;
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, especially BIPOC and low-income students;
  • Willingness to travel periodically for school visits and coaching;
  • Knowledge of cultural responsiveness and practices promoting equity and inclusion;
  • Ability to motivate and inspire educators around purpose and SEL development;
  • Passion for nXu’s mission and helping youth and professionals explore their purpose;
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, equitable program culture;
  • Receptiveness to feedback and coaching;
  • Comfort working remotely and independently;
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. by the employment start date.
