Job summary

Waltonen Engineering, located in Warren, Michigan, is seeking a Tooling Designer to join our team. You will create engineered solutions using NX from concept through 3D design and 2D detailing, and prepare layouts for complex units and mechanisms.

You will collaborate with design leads, perform calculations, select materials, and generate bills of materials while maintaining GD&T awareness. The role offers a hybrid schedule after 90 days and opportunities to advance in a diverse engineering

Qualifications

• 1+ year of tooling design experience.
• Proficient with CAD software.
• Knowledge of materials and components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime as needed, with fluctuating workloads.

Responsibilities

• Report to Waltonen Design Lead/Program Manager.
• Create engineered solutions using NX from concept through 3D design and 2D detailing.
• Design and/or modify CAD models per customer specifications using NX.
• Prepare design layouts utilizing UGNX on complex units and mechanisms.
• Make design computations as required and select materials.
• Prepare general specifications, including bills of materials.
• Collaborate with layout drafters and detailers to finalize designs.
