Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to support NX CAM programming for 5-axis milling of blades and vanes on an on-site basis in Bastrop, Texas. You will collaborate with machinists, engineers, and specialists to ship high-quality programs for a new gas turbine line.

The role requires strong NX CAM experience, GD&T interpretation, and the ability to ramp into other processes while maintaining production schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience in NX with 5-axis milling.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T; ability to propose manufacturability improvements.

Responsibilities

• Use NX CAD/CAM to program CNC parts, including 5-axis milling for airfoils, roots, and shrouds.
• Program or support programs for grinding, Sinker EDM, Wire EDM, laser drilling, and stem drilling under guidance.
• Verify NC files (e.g., Vericut); maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets; manage posts and G-code as needed.
• Apply tooling knowledge; adjust speeds, feeds, and parameters with guidance.
• Read and interpret drawings with GD&T; suggest drawing/process changes to improve manufacturability.
