Job summary

Pacific University in Forest Grove seeks current undergraduate students for the NWS Sustainability Team Member role. This part-time position promotes sustainable practices on and off campus through the Center for a Sustainable Society. You will create, organize, and promote events to raise awareness on issues identified by the team.

Work with existing teams such as Bicycle/Transportation, Power Plant, and Environmental Policy, or form new teams. Wage is $16.80/hour.

Qualifications

• Pacific University undergraduate student.
• Federal work-study funding for 2026-27 is preferred but not required.
• Passion for promoting sustainability and working with others.
• Ability to organize events with teammates.

Purpose of Position: This position will work with other team members to promote sustainable practices on and off campus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of this job are to create, organize, and promote events and activities on campus that encourage students to live more sustainably. Students will work with team members to brainstorm and organize signature events and/or practices that bring awareness to important issues identified by the team members. Some examples of promotion teams are the Bicycle/Transportation team, the Power Plant team, the Environmental Policy team, and the Lower Carbon Footprint team. Students can create new teams based on their interest or join existing ones.

Wage rate: $16.80/hour

• Pacific University Undergraduate student
• Qualifies for federal work study funding for the 2026-27 academic year (preferred, but not required)
• Applicants should, foremost, be passionate about projects related to creating a more sustainable society and world.
• Generally, they should be able to work well with other team members while organizing events.
• Fun, positive and creative thinking students are a good fit for this position.
