Job summary

Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IN is seeking a Nutritional Services Technician for PRN coverage. You will prepare hot and cold menu items for patient and cafeteria meals, assemble trays, and help with opening/closing duties of the cafeteria.

The role requires adherence to prescribed diets, nutrition guidelines, and food safety standards. You will interact with patients and staff, operate the cash register, and handle vendor deliveries while maintaining excellent service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• PRN schedule with every other weekend.
• Requires extensive standing and some heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

Description

The Nutritional Services Technician is accountable to provide all aspects of patient meal service. This individual is responsible for the preparation of hot and cold menu items for patient and cafeteria meals, as well as for special functions. The Nutritional Services Technician is accountable to have a fundamental understanding of prescribed diet information and food allergy protocols. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient meal orders, assembling trays, communicating prescribed diets, maintaining patient kardex system, preparing food, following recipes, washing dishes, other kitchen related tasks, open and close the cafeteria, serve customers, run the cash register, and receive & put away vendor orders. The Nutritional Services Technician must proficiently complete all required documentation and abide by all sanitation and food safety standards. It is also vital to display exceptional client service at all times.

A float position between Adams Memorial Hospital and Adams Heritage.

Works around areas and equipment of abnormal temperatures. Requires extensive standing. Requires full range of body motion including but not limited to, standing, walking, sitting, hand and finger dexterity, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, etc. Some heavy lifting. This job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted.
