Job summary

AdventHealth in Lampasas, Texas, seeks a part-time kitchen worker to prepare patient, retail, and catering meals following production records and safety standards.

You will assist with advance prep, maintain sanitary kitchen conditions, and support inventory control to minimize waste. Prior healthcare food service experience and food safety certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• 2+ years experience in quantity cooking (required).
• Experience in healthcare food service preferred.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred.
• ServeSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals by following production records, ensuring quality and temperature standards.
• Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients for upcoming service periods.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and ensure equipment/surfaces meet health standards; record temperatures as required.
• Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to minimize waste and support food safety.
• Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals and support efficient service delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals by following culinary production records, including short-order and batch cooking to ensure quality and temperature standards.

• Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients for upcoming service periods and high-volume production needs.

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet health standards and recording temperatures according to regulatory requirements.

• Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to support food safety and minimize waste.

• Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals, communicate needs, and support efficient food service delivery.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations. [Required]
