Pennridge School District is seeking a part-time Nutritional Services - General Cafeteria worker for the 10-month school year. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, dishwashing, cashiering, and general cafeteria cleaning under the Cafeteria Manager’s guidance.

Starting ASAP, this role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic arithmetic, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior food service experience is preferred, and pre-employment clearances are required.

TITLE: Nutritional Services - General Cafeteria

REPORTS TO : Cafeteria Manager

AVAILABLE: ASAP

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month work year (student days only) Salary in accordance with the Nutritional Services Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DESCRIPTION: Part-time rotating position to assist with preparing and serving meals, dishwashing, cashiering and general cafeteria/kitchen cleaning.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION : The nutritional services cafeteria worker is essential in the preparation and delivery of nutritious and cost effective meals to students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of food in accordance with food preparation, food service, sanitation and safety guidelines and regulations.
• Ensure that food temperature, serving techniques and service portions are in accordance with the Department of Nutritional Services rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in the cleaning of all Nutritional Services facilities, including, but not limited to, wiping down tables at the direction of the School Cafeteria Manager
• Maintain a positive attitude and emphasize teamwork to accomplish building department and district goals.
• Recognize problems that may arise in the delivery of food and work with the School Cafeteria Manager to devise creative and resourceful solutions.
• Operate Point of Sale(POS) computer, accept money and make change for all students and staff members purchasing meals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or demonstrated ability to read, writeand perform basic arithmetic.
• Strong organizationaland interpersonalskills and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Excellent personal hygiene.
• Must be able to push and/or pull 25 pounds and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Prior experience in the Food Services industry preferred

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Physical and Clearances must be within 12 months, TB must be within 90 days of hire.
