Job summary

Johnston Community School District is seeking a Nutrition - Variable Hour Cook to support the school nutrition program at a Johnston campus. The role involves food preparation, serving, and cleanup for the district’s middle school meals service.

The position is part-time with hours 8:45am-2:00pm, Monday through Friday. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; background check and physical capacity tests are required upon offer.

Responsibilities

• Support the supervisor and work with school staff to ensure smooth meals service.

PositionSummary: Food preparation, serving and clean up of food and equipment for the School Nutrition Department.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Food service preparation experience desired
• Be able to read and write English,perform simple arithmetic and follow oral and written direction
• Be able to do considerable standing and have the abilityto lift 50 lbs safely
• Ability to relate to children
• Possess good communicative, collaborative, and interpersonal skills

Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.
