Nutrition Technician (PRN) (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a Nutrition Technician, PRN CASUAL to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed for kids and outpatient pediatric clinics with specialized services. The hospital is designed by families for families, blending nature with healthcare innovation to provide world-class care to children in Central Florida and beyond. We also offer outpatient care in several regional clinics.

This position is responsible for preparing, distributing, inventorying, record-keeping, and ordering all patient formula and breast milk under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian.

Job Responsibilities

• Recognize weights and measures; possess knowledge of medical terminology.
• Maintain sterile technique during formula and breast milk preparation.
• Follow standards for formula preparation as per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics guidelines.
• Read, write, and perform mathematical calculations to prepare infant formulas accurately.
• Prepare and deliver all infant formulas and breast milk as ordered.
• Inventory and maintain sufficient stock in the feeding room.
• Maintain sanitation in the formula room.
• Recognize age-related factors influencing formula choices.
• Interpret instructions for formula and breast milk adjustments and readjust volumes accordingly.
• Interact regularly with dietitians, nurses, clerks, foodservice staff, patients, and families.
• Stay informed about HIPAA and OSHA/Safety regulations.
• Support Patient and Family Centered Care principles.
• Adhere to Nemours Standards of Behavior.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma required; up to 3 months of additional training.
• Completed training in a related medical or food service field.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification upon hire.
• Complete specified competencies within 90 days of hire.
