Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nutrition Service Supervisor to lead and coordinate our Nutrition Services Department within the hospital setting. You will guide cafeteria management, budgeting, purchasing, staff development, and safety practices to support patients, employees, and guests.

The role requires knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, HACCP guidelines, and healthcare food service operations, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare food service experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Graduate of an associate degree program in food service preferred.
• Certified Dietary Manager or Dietetic Technician registration if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Supports Nutrition Service Manager in absence.
• Performs and documents purchasing, receiving and inventory control of food and supplies.
• Maintains sanitation and proper temperatures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Maintains correct food handling techniques to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Determines quality, quantity, and portion size of food required.
• Coordinates dietetic services with other departments.
• Purchases food and assists with duties for special needs or occasions.
• Ensures in-service education meetings are held and courses are completed as required by company.
