Responsibilities
- Administer the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs at the unit.
- Accurately take, record, and extend all physical inventory, according to Department procedure.
- Market the school nutrition services program.
- Provide continual training, motivation, and direction to employees.
- Ensure all equipment, facility, and personal sanitation procedures are followed. Food Handler’s certification must be current and updated as required.
- Direct the proper handling and cooking of food.
- Monitor and enforce safety standards, administer training, report accidents, and complete documentation.
- Order and receive all food, condiments, paper/plastic, and cleaning supplies. Adjust orders and delivery receipts as needed.
- Ensure proper procedures for handling money, entering checks and cash, counting money, and preparing deposits.
- Project a professional image and utilize a positive, proactive approach.
- Monitor the monthly financial status of the nutrition services unit.
- Attend all scheduled manager meetings and in-services.
- Enforce all District and Department Policies and Procedures.
- Support the Nutrition Services Department with reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Nutrition Services General Manager, Manager, or Assistant Manager with middle or high school experience preferred.
- TASN Certificate - Certification Level I (or actively working towards certification).
- Effective leadership and organization skills.
- Good math skills for handling currency quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 60 lbs., working with machinery, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and standing/walking continuously.
Terms of Employment
180 days, 7.5-hour shift
Salary/Paygrade
$20.12/NS-7, based on experience for the 2024-2025 school year
Essential Functions
- Manage school nutrition programs, inventory, marketing, training, sanitation, food handling, safety, procurement, financial monitoring, and compliance.
Working Conditions
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling; moderate to heavy lifting; bending, kneeling, limited exposure to extreme temperatures.
