Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation seeks a Nutrition Services Director to lead the Nutrition Services Department, setting policies for cafeteria management, budgeting, purchasing, staff development and safety practices.

The role focuses on coordinating patient meals and cafeteria operations, with emphasis on HACCP, sanitation, and quality control to support patient healing.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or executive chef required.
• Three to five years of healthcare clinical nutrition or executive chef experience.
• Ten plus years healthcare food service experience, or five plus years healthcare management experience.
• Knowledge of nutrition, dietetics, hospital food service operations and HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage Departmental budget as it relates to position.
• Purchase, receiving, and inventory control of food and supplies.
• Maintain proper sanitation, temperature, and food handling techniques to comply with regulations.
• Determine quality and portion size of food and ensure proper handling.
• Ensure adequate staffing and management of department employees.
• Coordinate production for patient meals and cafeteria lines.
• Develop cafeteria menu as needed.
• Purchase food and assign duties for special needs or occasions.

License or Certification

• RegisteredDietitian (RD/RDN) orDietetic Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR)with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) with the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) or an executive chef required.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) with the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) or an executive chef required.
• Three to five years of healthcare clinical nutrition, or executive chef experience required.
• Ten plus years healthcare food service experience, or five plus years of healthcare management experience required.
• Graduate of a Bachelor's degree program in Dietetics, Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
• Must have thorough knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, administration, and operation of hospital food services, and knowledge of all H.A.C.C.P. guidelines.
