Job summary

Rockford Public School District #205 is seeking a Nutrition Services Cafeteria Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals to students in a clean, friendly environment. This non-exempt position reports to the Nutrition Services Field Supervisor and offers a compensation range of $18.05-$20.03 per hour.

Responsibilities include assisting with meal service, ensuring USDA reimbursable meals, maintaining food safety, and supporting inventory, with opportunities for training and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Food Services experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and use new software systems.
• Bilingual as required by location.

Responsibilities

• Serve menu options to students according to district recipes and menus.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Assist with service line set up and restocking during meal periods.
• Ensure meals are reimbursable according to USDA regulations.
• Follow Health Department standards to ensure food safety and sanitation.
• Assist with receiving and putting away orders.
