Job description

St. Croix Health is seeking a Full Time (0.8 FTE) Nutrition Services Associate to join our team. The scheduled hours vary, starting as early as 5:30 AM and ending as late as 7:30 PM, including every other weekend.

The Nutrition Services Associate assists in serving meals to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as cafeteria clients and catered events. Responsibilities include food prep, such as cutting, dicing, assembling sandwiches, and register duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Determine meal production needs, prepare meals following recipes, record production, and monitor food temperatures.
  2. Operate the Point of Sale system, handle transactions accurately, and manage cash drawers.
  3. Set up, deliver, and retrieve patient trays, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  4. Manage stock orders and restock supplies across departments.
  5. Perform minor responsibilities including cleaning, dishwashing, temperature checks, answering calls, and assisting with grocery stocking and prep work.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or current high school enrollment with expected graduation within 2 years.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred within six months of hire.
  • Prior food service experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple demands, and work well under pressure.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
