Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Preferred: 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
Purpose
Ensuring that food preparations and delivery are in accordance with local, state and federal nutritional guidelines.
Essential Job Functions
- Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
- Arrange food and beverage items for serving students and staff efficiently.
- Assist in stocking food, condiments and supplies to maintain adequate quantities and security.
- Attend unit meetings, in-service training, workshops to gather information required to perform job functions.
- Clean utensils, equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain required sanitary conditions.
- Cook food prepared from scratch to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements.
- Implement menu plans to meet students’ mandated daily nutritional requirements.
- Inspect food items and supplies to verify quantity, quality and specifications of orders and comply with health standards.
- Inventory food, condiments and supplies to ensure availability of items for menu requirements.
- Maintain equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition to comply with health standards.
- Monitor kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Perform other nutritional services functions as requested by supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Prepare food and beverage items to meet mandated nutritional requirements.
- Report equipment malfunctions to notify supervisor for repair or replacement.
- Respond to inquiries of students, staff and the public to provide information or direction regarding available food items and policies.
- Serve one or more items of food to meet mandated nutritional requirements.
- Other assigned duties.
