Job summary

Bonita Unified School District nutrition team seeks a dedicated Nutrition Service Operations Specialist in our central office. You will assist in planning, training, and grant monitoring, while supporting site staff in day-to-day operations.

The role requires high school graduation, 5+ years in large-scale food service, and a valid Food Safety Certification, with a California driver’s license. 12-month, full-time schedule; 8-hour shifts 6:00 am–2:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school; related coursework desired.
• Minimum of five years of food service experience, supervisory capacity.
• State approved Management Food Safety and Sanitation Certification and Instruction Certification.
• California Class C driver’s license with good driving record.

Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, provides complex analytical support in the planning and development of the Nutrition Service Program; performs duties in the central office such as planning, training; monitors the implementation of grants; gives support to site staff; and performs related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from high school. Supplemental college-level coursework in foods, nutrition, culinary arts, general education or related fields is desired.
• Minimum of five (5) years of food service experience in a commercial or food institutional food service production involving the planning, preparation, and serving of food in large quantities, including a serving in a supervisory capacity.
• Any combination of training and/or experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• A valid State approved Management Food Safety and Sanitation Certification and Instruction Certification.
• A valid California Class C driver’s license, a good driving record and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy. Incumbent will be required to drive district vehicle during the course of employment.
