University of Missouri in Columbia is seeking an Educational Program Associate III to support nutrition, health, physical activity, and food resource management programs across Nodaway, Gentry, Worth, Holt, and Atchison counties with possible placement near the county of residence.

The role requires teaching, using approved curricula, collaboration with regional specialists, and travel with flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent plus at least 6 months of related experience.
  • Preferred: 60 college hours with emphasis in Nutrition, Education, Human Development, Public Health, or Communication.
  • Community Health Worker Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide educational programs to youth and adults.
  • Utilize approved curricula.
  • Select appropriate activities for specific audience from the approved curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Regional Extension specialists and community agencies to develop educational opportunities and implement policy, systems and environment (PSE) initiatives.
  • Serve on local school wellness committees, as needed.
  • Submit reporting and evaluation in a timely fashion.
  • Assist individuals in completing SNAP applications.
  • Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Health and Human Sciences Extension programs promote optimalwell-being of individuals, families, and communities.

This position will teach basic nutrition, health, physicalactivity, food resource management, food safety, and food securityconcepts to Missourians. Can also present at conferences for schooldistricts. Will co-teach programs with a Regional Specialist toaudiences that qualify according to program guidance, asrequested.

This position will be serving Nodaway, Gentry, Worth, Holt, andAtchison Counties, with the possibility of the ideal candidate’soffice being located in or near their county of residence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ability to travel and to work flexible hours, including someevenings and weekends, is required to fulfill assignedresponsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience and at least 6 months of experience from whichcomparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree or sixty (60) hours college credit, with anemphasis in Nutrition, Education, Human Development, Social Work,Consumer & Family Sciences, Public Health, or Communication attime of appointment.

Relevant work experience in Nutrition, Education, HumanDevelopment, Social Work, Consumer & Family Sciences, PublicHealth, or Communication can be substituted at a rate of one (1)year experience is equivalent to five (5) college credits—up to amaximum of ten (10) years. An additional nine (9)-ten (10) collegecredits will be required.

Community Health Worker Certification

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-007
