Overview

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to various Johns Hopkins locations. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Location: Bayview Medical Center, 4940 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD

Pay rate: $20 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Identify inventory requirements, receive, store, and distribute equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Use computerized nutrition management software to maintain accurate and complete inventory records.
  • Examine incoming shipments to verify correct type and quantity of materials and supplies. Distribute order invoices to the appropriate Supervisor or Unit Clerk.
  • Unpack and store shipments to ensure product integrity, using FIFO as the method. Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock accordingly.
  • Complete requisitions accurately and report shortages to the Supervisor. Distribute requisition forms to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assemble and deliver unit floor stock and bulk supply orders to off-site food delivery sites on the JHBMC campus.
  • Assist in collecting inventory data using a handheld PDA and scan floor supplies into the Vision system.
  • Lift, push, and haul heavy stock items using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Transport supplies by pushing carts and loading delivery trucks.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in storerooms, walk-ins, loading docks, and hallways.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar work environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform stooping, bending, reaching, and grasping tasks. Proficiency in keyboard use for computer interactions.
