Job summary

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is seeking a Child Nutrition Funding Analyst (Consultant) in Springfield to act as a fiscal liaison for the Nutrition Department and USDA. You will assign identifiers, ensure conformity between ISBE and state Comptroller systems, and support FRIS, EPS, and MIDAS operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining meal counting records, processing and auditing claims, producing federal nutrition reports, and coordinating vendor updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of related education/experience.
• Experience with accounting and Excel.
• Experience working with large data systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop cooperative relationships with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain meal count records for child nutrition.
• Process and adjust claims and budgets in FRIS/MIDAS.
• Prepare and distribute correspondence on submissions and deadlines.
• Approve/deny claims transmitted after deadlines.
• Coordinate updates to EPS/MIDAS and related vendor files.
• Prepare monthly Federal Child Nutrition Reports (FNS-10, FNS-44, FNA-418).
• Process reports and vouchers for FRIS programs.
• Ensure voucher payments are made from proper funding accounts.
