Job summary

UMass Amherst in Springfield is seeking an EFNEP Nutrition Education Aide to deliver nutrition education across the Western Region of Massachusetts, with the main office in Springfield. The role focuses on presenting 8–10 lessons on nutrition, food safety, budgeting, and healthy choices to at-risk families and individuals.

You will recruit participants, collect data while ensuring confidentiality, and collaborate with community partners to expand the program's reach and impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant work/volunteer experience or an associate's degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Competent oral communication and presentation skills.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and nutritional needs; able to prepare food.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed participant number goals through teaching and recruitment.
• Travel to community settings to teach nutrition and related subjects.
• Use approved curriculum to deliver lessons to diverse audiences.
• Recruit and graduate participants for the program.
• Maintain confidential participant data and records.
• Collaborate with community agencies to extend program reach.
