Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s EFNEP program in Houston seeks a Nutrition Education Associate to deliver nutrition education to low-income adults and youths, in person or virtually. The role emphasizes cultural safety and community partnerships across county sites.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and at least six months of related experience with diverse audiences. Travel to county sites and some evening/weekend hours are expected to support program delivery.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Six months of related experience working with youth and/or adult audiences.
Experience with low resource audiences and working with support networks.
Knowledge or teaching experience related to nutrition, food safety, food resource management and physical activity.

Responsibilities

Recruits adults and/or youth who meet program guidelines.
Uses research-based, approved educational materials to instruct youth and/or adults in-person and/or virtually.
Prepares food for recipes and demonstrates techniques to participants.
Collects and tracks program data.
Mentors and/or trains Nutrition Education Assistants when needed.
