Job summary

You will work closely with the Registered Dietitian to provide essential nutritional care and dietary services. Your role includes supporting clients during meal times, monitoring compliance, and leading nutrition education sessions.

This position offers valuable hands-on experience in mental health and preparing for a Registered Dietitian career. Qualifications include a relevant degree and experience in dietary education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Science, or related experience.
• Experience in dietary education and understanding of dietary interventions in mental health treatment.
• Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff.
• Effectively communicate with all staff to implement dietary program.
• Communicate with people from all educational and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for clients at meal and snack times.
• Monitor clients’ consumption and meal plan compliance.
• Enforce dietary program and advise clients on food choices.
• Facilitate nutrition education groups and restaurant exposures.
• Obtain weekly blind weights and vital measurements.
• Coordinate with Registered Dietitian.
• Guide clients in proper kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Assist clients with grocery shopping and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
• Maintain documentation and communication with treatment team.
• Provide one-on-one case management and support.
