  • Stock inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Use computer to retrieve information and respond to patient nutrition-related inquiries
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and hospital staff
  • Check patient trays for accuracy
  • Perform related duties as required

Position Summary

Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of nutritional care and patient food service area. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • MENUS - Correct menus according to diet plan, tally menus and prepare food production guide
  • COMPLIANCE - Adhere and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements
  • RECORDS - Maintain and prepare various patient records to include labels, cardexes and menus; record diet changes and update changes accordingly
  • PATIENT TRAYS - Prepare and distribute menus; deliver patient formulas and trays according to schedule
  • INVENTORY - Stock a variety of materials and supplies to ensure adequate inventory; order supplies as needed
  • COMPUTER AND PHONES - Operate computer to retrieve information; answer phone calls related to patient nutrition care taking appropriate action
  • INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS - Establish and maintain effective interpersonal business relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and all Hospitals personnel
  • TRAYS - Check patient trays for accuracy
  • RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Physical Conditions
