Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Diet Tech Assistant to support nutritional care by taking patient meal orders by telephone and entering requests into the diet office system. You will see patients at bedside to help with menu selections, dietary preferences, and allergies, ensuring accurate records.

You will collaborate with Nutrition Services staff to assure correct diets, and relay messages to supervisors and clinical staff.

• Sees patients at bedside to assist with menu selections, obtain dietary preferences, and clarify allergies.
• Enters patient information into the diet office system, and maintains highly accurate computerized diet records.
• Communicates with other Nutrition Services staff to assure that patients are receiving the correct diet.
• Relays messages to supervisors and clinical nutrition staff.
