Job summary

Reasons Eating Disorder Center is seeking a Nutrition Assistant - Per Diem to work closely with a Registered Dietitian at our Pasadena/Arcadia facilities. The position supports residents with meal plans, nutrition groups, and food safety within a compassionate treatment setting.

Ideal candidates include nutrition students or Dietetics technicians, with preferred experience in eating disorders or related care. Flexible hours and weekend availability are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or enrolled in an accredited Dietetics, a Dietetic Technician program, or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge and experience in the field of eating disorders treatment preferred.
• Food service or related experience preferred.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
• Must be available to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• The Nutrition Assistant works closely with the Registered Dietitian in monitoring and maintaining the dietary program.
• Performs essential duties related to meal plans, resident meal pattern information, and safety pertaining to nutritional care and food service.
• Grocery shopping, cooking meals, eating at restaurants with patients, and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to impact people’s eating disorder recovery.
• Plan and prepare resident meals and provide baking, cooking, and nutrition-related groups.
• Plan and participate in restaurant outings and delivery for some meals.
• Monitor and order food and supplies; check food logs/diaries daily.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or currently enrolled in an accredited Dietetics, a Dietetic Technician program, or equivalent certification.
