Job description

This position allows for great work-life balance. Primary shift hours are 10:30am-7:00pm, with every-other weekend scheduled. Minimum hourly rate $20+ for experience. Shift differentials paid on top of hourly rate. Fully benefit eligible position including Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), life and disability insurances, and paid time off!$3,000 sign on bonus eligible position (subject to applicable taxes).Job Description

The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for supporting daily food preparation and distribution for patients, residents, and staff. This includes delivering and collecting food and beverage items, assisting patients or residents with food and beverage requests when needed, and representing the department in a professional and courteous manner to all patients, residents, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute meals and beverages according to patient preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Complete kitchen production sheets accurately.
  • Assist with staff meals and catering services as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agency guidelines and therapeutic diet protocols.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in the food service field preferred.
  • Experience in food safety is desired.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and willingness to embrace change.
  • Physically and mentally capable of meeting the demands of the position.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and provides satisfactory references.
  • Works effectively with staff, patients, and families at all levels.
  • Able to follow standardized recipes and prepare foods in compliance with diet orders.
  • Capable of modifying food textures and portioning foods correctly.
  • Understands and follows therapeutic diets as ordered.
Bonus Details
  • A sign-on bonus is available and paid in two installments over one year.
  • Current UVMHN employees are not eligible. Other restrictions apply.
  • Bonus recipients must commit to continuous employment in the eligible position for one year.
