Responsibilities
  • Ensures all food handling areas are sanitized and disinfected for the safety of employees, patients, and guests.
  • Exhibits a high degree of knowledge in food preparation and food production.
  • Accurately portions meals and beverages, including attention to dietary restrictions.
  • Supports team members in all areas of food services, including cashier, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, etc.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of Food Service experience required.
  • Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Overview

As our Nutrition Assistant II at CHI St. Vincent, you will directly interact with patients and visitors every day. You will ensure all dining areas are safely sanitized, well-stocked, and that food is appropriately prepared. You understand most guests at our facility are dining with us for a reason and take great pride in giving them one less thing to worry about.

Every day, you will serve nutritious food to patients, families, and staff that promotes health and healing. You will set up trays for hospital patients, following menu requests from the patient room service program while considering individual preferences. You will also collect dirty trays and dishes from patient care areas, clean dishes in an automatic dishwasher, and return these dishes to the proper storage areas.
