Job summary

Liberty Hospital seeks a Nutrition Assistant to perform patient food service, diet office and sanitation tasks in accordance with safety standards. This part-time role serves as a liaison between patients and Food/Nutrition Services.

Shift is 4pm-8pm, 12 hours per week. You will assist with meal trays, order accuracy, hygiene and record intake. Attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience.
  • Diet office, healthcare and/or food service experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations.
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment.
  • Communicates patient food needs and feedback to appropriate area.
  • Processes diet orders, corrects menus, tallies menu items and performs other patient meal tasks accurately per established procedure.
  • Serves and picks up patient meal trays per policy; records intake per policy.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items; uses the FIFO methodology.
  • Follows HACCP principles for time and temperature; records per policy.
  • Serves menu items for patients and guests utilizing correct serving utensil and serving size.
  • Washes dishes, serviceware and pots/pans; cleans throughout the department.
  • Removes trash and waste from the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This posting is for a part-time shift need from 4pm-8pm (12 hours per week). Please only apply if you can work between those hours weekly, thank you!

Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment
  • Communicates patient food needs and feedback to appropriate area
  • Processes diet orders, corrects menus, tallies menu items and performs other patient meal tasks accurately per established procedure
  • Serves and picks up patient meal trays per policy; records intake per policy
  • Stores, labels and dates food items; uses the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology
  • Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature; records per policy
  • Serves menu items for patients and guests utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving size
  • Washes dishes, serviceware and pots/pans in the dishroom and pot/pan area
  • Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department
  • Cleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education And Experience

  • Customer service experience.
Preferred Education And Experience

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Diet office, healthcare and/or food service experience.
Preferred Licensure And Certification

  • Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days.
Knowledge Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
