Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to prepare meals for children and align with Head Start philosophy. The role requires familiarity with institutional food service standards and collaboration with the school schedule.
Hours are 20 hours per week during the 10-month school year (August–June) with summer break; a $13.99 per hour pay rate and a $500 sign-on bonus are available along with a robust fringe benefits package.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Prepare food for the children’s meals that is delivered by the food service agency. Become familiar with daily classroom routine and Head Start philosophy and mission.

Luzerne County Head Start requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal laws and regulations. Proof of education and credentials meeting the minimum qualifications of the job.
Hours & Salary
Part Time/10-month school year position- August-June annually, with an established summer break between school years.
Work Schedule: 20 hrs/wk (4 hour days, M-F)
Pay Rate: $13.99/hr
