As a vital part of the R&D team, the Formulation Specialist will play a key role in enhancing existing formulas for both our in-house product line and external clients, while identifying new opportunities for innovative nutraceutical formulations. This position involves close collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams to address and troubleshoot formula related challenges in the manufacturing process, and ensure we boost efficiency without compromising on quality. Additionally, the Formulation Specialist will contribute to the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, testing methodologies, and process enhancements in the formulation development workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, testing, and manufacturing optimization of innovative formulations for capsules, powders, and tablets, ensuring superior quality and efficacy.
• Proactively identify and troubleshoot formulation challenges in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams.
• Team up with the Sales and R&D Manager to create new formulations tailored for our customers.
• Ensure detailed and precise documentation of formulations and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop comprehensive documentation for new formula and product development initiatives.
• Effectively prioritize a variety of product development projects and troubleshoot formulation issues on the manufacturing floor as needed to meet production timelines and customer commitments.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience

• BA/BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition/Dietetics, or a related field. An equivalent number of years of relevant experience will be considered as a substitute for the educational requirement.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in product development and formulation in the dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP and Project Management systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Skilled at working seamlessly with diverse teams across various functions.
• Strong documentation, organization, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
• Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and regulations for dietary supplements (DSHEA) preferred.
