Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. in New Mexico seeks an early childhood professional to support children aged 0–3 within the HELP NM ECD program.

You will promote school readiness, provide high-quality center-based care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support child development and family education services. You will follow Head Start Performance Standards and NM licensing rules, supervise children closely, and uphold health and safety practices to foster a secure learning

Qualifications

• Education/Background: High School Diploma/GED and CDA or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• NM CDC certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Teaching Strategies GOLD inter-rater reliability certification within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 6 months experience in teaching infants or toddlers.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• TB test or Chest X-ray.
• NM ECECD Background Clearance.
• First Aid/CPR certified or obtain within first 6 months.
• Food Handlers card upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Promote school readiness for children and families.
• Provide high quality care and education for 0–3 in a center-based classroom.
• Collaborate with center-based interdisciplinary team to support development.
• Comply with Head Start standards, NM Child Care Licensing, and HELP NM ECD policies.
• Supervise children by sight and sound in all environments.
• Maintain health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
• Facilitate health practices to keep children safe indoors and outdoors.
