Job summary

Ymca Of Coastal Carolina is seeking an Early Learning Assistant to support safe, nurturing care for infants through preschoolers at the YMCA Early Learning Academy. You will assist with engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and help establish routines in a caring environment.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with staff to maintain licensing standards, promote children’s growth, and build positive relationships with families while upholding confidentiality and YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Must meet SC DSS licensing requirements.
• Experience with infants/toddlers preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must maintain confidentiality and safety.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff with developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences.
• Engage with children and provide positive, nurturing interactions supporting development.
• Assist with daily routines including transitions, meals, rest, outdoor play, toileting, and cleanup.
• Maintain active supervision and support staff-to-child ratios per SC DSS requirements.
• Observe children and communicate needs to staff; follow health, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
