Job summary

New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation seeks a Supervisor of Nurses to lead clinical nursing activities within the Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU). You will oversee nursing staff, coordinate care with physicians, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a correctional health setting.

Responsibilities include staffing, rounds, documentation, emergencies, and collaboration with the On-Site Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification from American Heart Association
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing care and supervise clinical staff in unit operations.
• Coordinate care, admissions, and treatments with physicians and other staff.
• Monitor patient care quality and ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Lead rounds, document care plans, and communicate with psychiatrists and nursing leadership.
• Respond to medical emergencies (CPR, AED) and coordinate transfers as needed.
