SUMMARY
The Nursing Unit Secretary performs clerical duties that contribute to the efficient operation of the unit. The specific responsibilities and time frame may be adjusted in mutual agreement with the unit administrator based on the specialty area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. No certification, registration, or licensure required.
3. Analytical skills to gather and interpret routine data and solve standard problems.
4. Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn EPIC and other systems.
5. Ability to understand and follow simple written and verbal instructions; courteous interaction with patients and visitors when necessary.
Required Physical, Mental, and Visual Abilities
1. Occasional reaching and grasping.
2. Regular use of keyboard for computer interaction.
3. Ability to sit for extended periods.
4. Ability to review and proofread documents.
Salary Range: Minimum $16.16 per hour - Maximum $26.69 per hour. Compensation will be based on experience and role scope.
