Job summary

DCH Health System in Alabama seeks a Team Leader on the nursing unit to provide clinical supervision, staff direction, patient flow, safety, and quality of care under the unit manager. The role includes in-services, education, mentoring, PI activities, data collection, and ongoing staff evaluation.

Weekend and holiday coverage may be required; requires RN license in Alabama, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC as applicable, 2+ years RN experience, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Alabama or multistate license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; BSN preferred.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider training required.
• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience.
• Specialty nursing experience preferred in applied area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates unit activities and provides leadership for staffing and patient assignments.
• Supervises and evaluates nursing care for patients in the assigned department.
• Promotes efficient patient flow including timely discharges and admissions.
• Ensures safety by adherence to policies and procedures and promotes evidence-based practices.
• Leads daily huddles and coordinates with other departments for common goals.
• Maintains records related to orientation, in-service and unit competency assessments.
• Ensures compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
