Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Salem, VA is seeking a Nursing Unit Assistant to support nursing teams and help deliver high-quality patient care. You will assist with daily operations, transport patients, prepare rooms, and support dining and rehabilitation activities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non direct patient care as a Nursing Unit Assistant to achieve positive patient outcomes and patient/family satisfaction.
• Report changes in patients' condition, patient/family concerns or complaints to charge nurse and/or supervisor.
• Make unoccupied patient beds.
• Assist with the dining program.
• Ensure patients are ready for scheduled rehabilitation therapy and transports them to the rehabilitation area.
• Manage patient personal belongings.
