Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate may be required for facilities receiving Medicaid/Medicare funds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with non-professional nursing duties.
• Attend shift report and accepts patient care assignments for the assigned shift.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and provides care appropriate to the patient's stage of growth and development.
• Ensure patient safety by identifying and reporting potential or actual safety hazards. Escorts patients to campus activities and off-grounds appointments while maintaining the assigned level of observation and accountability.
• Document patient location in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility, personal clothing care, and daily household chores.
• Conduct therapeutic patient groups under the direction of licensed nursing staff and documents patient participation.
• Observe, monitor, and document patients' physical condition, behavior, and responses to care, reporting significant changes promptly to licensed nursing staff.
